Messe Institut Under the motto "Be good - become better - learn more", the Messe Institut was founded on the initiative of ABB AG, Robert Bosch GmbH, Hoechst AG, IBM Deutschland GmbH, Mercedes-Benz AG, OCTANORM-Vertriebs-GmbH, Villeroy & Boch AG, ZF Friedrichshafen AG, AEG and Adam Opel AG on 3 November 1993.

The focus of all the work of the Messe Institut is on the interests of exhibiting companies.

As a consultant of ClimatePartner, Messe Institut is an important partner in all matters of the trade fair industry concerning environment-friendly fair presentations.

In the research, fair-relevant themes and facts are examined, which science had so far either not considered at all or very little. In the consulting, the stress is on participation strategies, concept analyses and efficiency calculations, as well as climate-neutral fair stands and sustainability concepts.

The goal was and is to enable exhibiting companies - through the transfer of know-how, procurement and making available of reliable data as well as training and further education - to make their fair participation more efficient. The core competences of the Institute are the areas of research, training and consulting.

In addition, the Messe Institut is the organiser of the "Fair Symposium", which has evolved into an annual meeting point of trade fair professionals, and since 2008, the "MX Messe Expo", an annual fair for the exhibiting entities.
